One Vision Media

Visual Designer

Providing all the virtual scenery, animation, photos and videos for WRB’s live show is specialist theatre AV company ONE VISION MEDIA.

The company was set up in 2016 by professional musician and graphic designer, Jarrod Loughlin, as an ‘in-house’ AV source for the UK’s best loved touring theatre show “That’ll Be The Day” in which Jarrod has been performing since 2013.

As their AV designer, Jarrod’s first step is to decide on the look for the piece and then research that period for the exact radio jingles, logos, album covers, original footage, adverts and sound effects to make it as authentic as possible. From an original 1963 Greek stamp on a postcard from Cliff’s ‘Summer Holiday’ to a recreation of the inside of The Cavern Club, it’s all in a days work.

When some of the TBTD cast and crew decided to stage the story of the Everly Brothers, OVM was on board straight away and armed with a script full of locations, TV shows and classic archive photos, started to piece together what would become ‘Walk Right Back’.

The show takes in some world-famous musical locations such as The Grand Ole Opry, RCA Studios in Nashville and The Ed Sullivan Theatre but also some more personal sets like The Everly's childhood home and WROL Radio in Knoxville for their first performances with parents Ike & Margaret Everly.

All these locations are then digitally recreated from historical photos to put you right at the heart of the action. From the bare, wood panelled walls of early 50’s recording studios and the dirty back alleys of downtown Nashville all the way to the sumptuous surroundings of The Royal Albert Hall, not a lightbulb or poster is out of place and is exact to that period.

Throughout the show, special custom made videos segments featuring The Beatles, Buddy Holly, The Everlys on tour, Country Music’s greatest stars, newspaper headlines, historical photo montages and posters are shown to set the scene for the Everly’s journey.

The show being heavy on nostalgia means lots of old footage but sometimes it may not be commercially available in a good enough quality to be shown on our screen so it has to be totally remade to ensure it looks right. Almost everything is then created from scratch with a combination of custom drawing, video editing, special effects, music and voiceovers. Many hours of work for what is sometimes a 10 second piece!

It’s a real chance for OVM to go ‘back in time’ and discover all the old styles of animation and design before the invention of computers and then work out the matching look and style of the text, colours and movement nostalgic piece that we all know and love.

ONE VISION MEDIA is also responsible for creating the live AV for other touring theatre shows as well as designing posters, CDs, DVDs, Brochures and other tour merchandise for these and other bands and related artists.
